About the Role
As the National BDM – Commercial Vehicles, you will own the end‑to‑end commercial lifecycle for major B2B customers across Australia. This includes opportunity identification, commercial structuring, negotiation, implementation, contract management, and ongoing relationship development.
You’ll work confidently at both strategic and operational levels—leading high‑value negotiations, designing tailored solutions, and working closely with internal teams to deliver best‑in‑market outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer & Relationship Leadership
- Deliver an outstanding, responsive, and professional customer experience
- Act as the primary commercial contact for national accounts
- Build strong multi‑level customer and industry relationships
- Lead monthly and quarterly performance reviews
- Manage escalations promptly and effectively
Commercial & Contract Management
- Lead development, negotiation, and renewal of commercial agreements
- Define pricing, scope, SLAs, KPIs, and escalation structures
- Protect pricing integrity, margins, and commercial risk
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure agreements are operationally deliverable
Sales Management & Growth
- Own the national sales strategy for the Commercial Vehicles portfolio
- Identify and convert new business opportunities
- Lead end‑to‑end tenders, bids, and proposals
- Forecast and manage pipeline, revenue, and margin performance
- Work with Sales, Operations, IT, Credit Services, and more to deliver growth initiatives
Performance & Insights
- Analyse account performance (volume, revenue, margin, service)
- Present performance insights internally and externally
- Use data to drive commercial decisions and pricing strategies
- Ensure review actions are clearly owned and completed
What You’ll BringEssential
- 10+ years’ experience in sales or business development within a trade or service environment
- Strong experience working with commercial contracts and large B2B customers
- Minimum 2 years of key account management with proven results
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, results‑driven mindset with a desire to grow long‑term with O'Brien

- Tertiary qualifications
- Experience in trade-based or automotive environments
- Demonstrated success in driving sustainable business or market growth
